Zuma received the "Game of the Year" in 2004 cementing its reputation as a classic arcade game. Bet you won't find any gamer who hasn't played Zuma. Fans jump for joy as they discover the marble breaking game update is a perfect balance to the classic game.
Like the original, Zuma’s Revenge takes you on more marble popping adventures. The game doesn't come with a story to follow, but they don't all need to have one. You play the familiar stone frog that finds itself on a tropical Polynesian island. The aboriginals don't make froggy feel very welcome.
Nonetheless, the brave frog is determined to explore the island without a care about the five fierce chiefs that guard mystery of the Tiki Island. Therefore, you walk through many locations and must face chains of multi-colored marbles coming from idols’ mouths.
From the first level, you see that Zuma’s Revenge doesn’t differ much from the original. The stone frog sits in the middle of the given location and throws out balls of different colors. You shoot single marbles at the accumulation of two and more similar colored marbles of the moving chain to make them explode. The goal is to remove all the balls before they reach the skull at the end of the pass. From time to time, you manage two chains. The frog has two balls you can see in advance and swap them out. Zuma’s Revenge features several power-ups like firing three balls destroying everything in their path, slowing the ball speed and rolling balls in the opposite direction. The new feature that adds to these power ups is the ability to move the frog from one lily pad to another in some levels. Besides you can collect fruits appearing on occasion. This will help you fill the Zuma bar to stop new balls from rolling out. The greatest innovation of the game is the battles against bosses. You must battle six bosses in Adventure mode. The power of the boss following increases every ten levels and you have to develop come up with a strategy to defeat them.
At the beginning of the game, only Adventure mode is available. After completing ten levels and the battle against the boss, you unlock Challenge mode. There are 70 levels in this mode with seven difficulty sets. After completing 60 levels of the Adventure mode, you can play Heroic Frog mode, which allows you to replay all the levels of the Adventure mode and improve your score. Speaking of music, it plays relaxing Hawaiian style music. The sound effects remain similar to those in Zuma Deluxe. The backgrounds contain grey-green-sand colors decorated with tropical flowers. The game and its location don't change much from its predecessor. Despite the little change, Zuma’s Revenge is a catchy and magical sequel. Can you help Zuma frog explore the mysterious island?
