Long awaited sequel to the Virtual Villagers saga – The Tree of Life – is almost here. Let’s have a sneak peek at the fourth installment of the simulation series and see what awaits us this time.
The island of Isola hides lots of secrets. Ever flourished home to a tribe of refugees has begun to slowly diminish. Birds and fish have gone, nature seems to punish the tribe… What had happened? Is Isola dying? The tribal chief decides to form an expedition and find out the answers. After several days of wondering the expedition discovered a clearing with an enormous dying tree. Help the tribe to settle down at the new place and unlock the secrets of the tree and the island of Isola!
Like three previous installments Virtual Villagers 4: The Tree of Life is a role-playing game where you are to manage all the characters. You also need to know that The Tree of Life is played in true real-time. And your villagers continue to grow, learn and work even when your computer is off. You can set your own pace of the game. There are slow, normal and fast ways to play.
Your main goal in the game is to explore the island and find out how the ill tree and the waning vitality of the island are linked. To unlock the secret of the tree the villagers must improve their skills, make important discoveries and reveal how to save the Tree of Life.
While playing the game, you can check the current condition of the Tree of Life. When the villagers find the way to heal the tree, the mosaic starts to fill with color. The Tree of Life is the heart of the island! When the tree is restored, you’ll notice the changes on the island.
In Virtual Villagers 4 you’ll be asked to solve 16 puzzles. It is necessary to make the tribe’s life more comfortable and bring the villagers closer to the answers. For example, the villagers will invent soap and fishing net, learn how to honor and decorate the tree and more.
Children can’t work… But they can collect mushrooms and various useful gadgets! To solve some puzzles you’ll need different collectible items scattered across the island. There are 4 categories of collectables:
- Fish Scales (The fish scales are taken to the large fish statue in the tide pool)
- Mausoleum (The mausoleum pieces are put in their proper place to restore the mural that adorns the entryway to the mausoleum)
- Wind Flutes (flutes will be mounted onto the large pipes that protrude from the ground on the high cliff overlooking the ocean)
- Research Lab Equipment (the children will take all of the lab gear that they find to the research lab)
Pleasant news about Virtual Villagers 4: you can win trophies! The trophy will reflect your progress on a wide variety of achievements within the game. Some of the trophies are easy to obtain, and some are much more difficult. Some trophies are even awarded for collecting trophies!
