Pros: Captivating storyline. Tasks well-weaved into plot. Multiple puzzles and mini-games. 3D-animation.

Cons: Not innovative.

Do you believe in vampires? No? Then it’s time to travel to Vampireville and make sure that vampires do really exist! Don’t be scared of the game because it's more humorous than eerie. Although Vampireville doesn’t contain innovative features, it successfully combines the old and well-known into one absorbing adventure.

In Vampireville, you are young property appraiser Michael Christensen, a spitting image of Keanu Reeves. As the story has goes, Malgrey Castle is up for sale as no one has come forward as the heir of the property in 100 years. Your job is to inspect and appraise the castle for the government. But beware! There is something strange about this old place. One of the leading experts in property acquisitions went mad after his visit to Malgrey Castle. It's up to you to follow boss' orders and find out what happened there.

As soon as you enter the castle, you quickly notice this place looks abandoned. Well, not exactly. The occupied castle has some secret or mystery that you need to uncover.

Vampireville is not an ordinary hidden object game. It plays more like an adventure game without impossible tasks. The game consists of short chapters with each providing several tasks and a helping of the story. The storyline gradually unfolds when you work on the tasks and puzzles that weave perfectly into the plot.

The hidden object scenes come with a list of items. You also have specific tasks where you need find keys, open boxes or use items to perform some action to reach your goal.

You can move some items that appear in the locations. You can pull curtains, open cupboards, move vases and other things. However, behind every chest isn't necessarily a hidden surprise. You need to pay attention and keep looking. Also, locations consist of two or three screens, you'll need to switch between them to finish your tasks.

Vampireville game doesn’t stop to surprising with new puzzles and tasks. Every chapter has something different from the previous ones. You'll run into all sorts of puzzles and mini-games like jigsaw puzzles, ‘Remember the sequence,’ Hanoi towers, memory and pipes, unscrambling telegrams and type blood samples to name a few.

One of the most thrilling features of Vampireville game is its unique atmosphere, which comes through the storytelling and bright and remarkable characters. For example, imperturbable Butler, a strange Goth maid and a ghostly watchdog. All the characters are fully-voiced and animated in 3D, which is atypical in casual games. But it adds appeal.

It's easy to play Vampireville with its brief chapters with plot updates that contain a captivating story that sucks you right in. Not only does the game have 3D-animated characters, many puzzles and an absorbing storyline, but also it's brimming with humor giving a special touch to the very popular vampire theme.
