Pros: Nice graphics and audio, unlimited hint system, various mini-games.
Cons: Someobjects are too tiny to make out.
Magic Encyclopedia: Moon Light is a hidden object game sequel to Magic Encyclopedia: First Story. You play as Katrina, a young student at the magic school where the Magic Encyclopedia is kept. Along with her brother she investigates a mysterious disappearance of professor Forbos. Travel all over the world and through time to explore 4 continents and save the professor from the curse of the werewolf.
Magic Encyclopedia: Moon Lightfeatures 1,900 hidden objects spread throughout 16 locations. In the bottom of the game screen you have hidden items divided up into several pieces and scattered all over the location. Once you find all the pieces the tool appears in your inventory. Wolf Artifact, the right area, keeps track of all completed items.
There are several hotspots on the screen that highlight when you mouse over them. Hammer means you can place an item from your inventory to work with it. Hand indicates the ability to perform an action. Click on the sparkles to zoom the area and find an object hidden behind something in that scene. Query indicates that you must solve a mini game puzzle to proceed.
Once you discover a professor’s amulet each search screen will have 1 to 2 gems located on it. You must find all peace gems to complete the game. There are no hints for the gems.
Magic Encyclopedia: Moon Light includes 18 diverse mini-games with the possibility to skip without score or hint penalty. Puzzles aren't hard and diversify the game play. They include a memory game, card game, triggers mini-game, etc.
The shortcoming in the game is that the hidden items are split into 5 or 6 tiny pieces hard to make out. Unlimited hint system is very useful here. Plus the hint button recharges fast. One more drawback is the game's replayability. If you decide to play Magic Encyclopedia: Moon Light a second time the items will be placed in the same spot on the screen.
Magic Encyclopedia: Moon Light is successful twist of hidden object and adventure game with various quests and puzzles that will satisfy hidden object fans.
