Kelly Green: Garden Queen is a farm-themed time management game. You take on the role of Kelly, a young lady from the city who has a knack for cooking. Did she ever think she would be a farmer that grows flowers and takes care of animals? Kelly inherits her family estate and she needs to manage her grandparents’ nursery and carry on her family's traditions.
The main goal in Kelly Green: Garden Queen is to plant flowers and sell bouquets to customers. At the beginning of each level, you purchase all the necessary stuff like flower seeds, decorations for bouquets (cards, ribbons, hearts, etc.), new or better farming equipment (sprinklers, a bigger greenhouse, a better well, etc.) and lemonade to use as a treat to customers who start losing patience.
As soon as your work day begins, you receive orders from customers who either come to your farm or call you. Upon receiving an order, you need to prepare the flower pots for planting and eventually blooming before you can arrange them into a beautiful bouquet. You may need to replant some plants. You grow them in the greenhouse and then replant outside. Some flowers can only grow in the greenhouse, so you have to pay attention and think ahead.
You start Kelly Green: Garden Queen by handling all the tasks yourself. As you progress and receive more orders, Kelly gets help from her brother Neil, his wife and Grace. Unlike most time management games, no one has a specific job. Each can do everything from watering plants to calling customers. That saves a lot of your time.
After you grow all the plants for a customer, you can complete the order creating a bouquet. Watch the customer’s face to see if he likes the bouquet you create. This relaxing part of the game allows you to enjoy the game instead of feel rushed.
Kelly Green: Garden Queen offers more than just growing flowers and selling bouquets. You still have the job of protecting your plants from destructive insects or troublesome crows. Thank goodness, you have tools to help battle these annoyances such as a scarecrow for scaring crows and cats for chasing away gophers. After you buy a cow, you also get to sell milk to customers. You still have to take care of the cow to make sure it gets its food and water as well as milk it. Moreover, the game's assortment of plants vary based on the current season as the game goes through four seasons.
Kelly Green: Garden Queen has plenty of farming activities to keep you entertained and busy. The game has only one mode of play that's suitable for an experienced player. New players might feel frustrated since the game has no option to make the game play easier.
In spite of the too common farm theme, Kelly Green: Garden Queen feels fresh due to its appealing characters and compelling story, which is told through bright comics. It’s one of the most remarkable time management games that can eclipse its rivals.
The first five levels in Kelly Green: Garden Queen were ok but than I had to play very fast to complete the level. I didn't have time to think what I'm doing or enjoy the game play. I didn't like the feeling of constant go-go-go! Sorry!
