Jojo's Fashion Show 2. New Season of High Fashion

Jojo's Fashion Show 2. New Season of High Fashion

Review from awem.com

19 Oct 2008

  • Pros:  unobtrusive presentation of story, new personalities, photo shoot mode, male models and fashion, more clothing items and styles.

  • Cons: looks identical to the original game in terms of settings, interface and power-ups, impossibility to create new styles.

Who doesn’t know Jojo and Rosalind, far-famed mother and daughter, who came back to the world of High Fashion with great sensation? They won the hearts of public and gained their glory. Now a new season is coming and a new task lies ahead. Will they do it? They make fashion for fashion and that is probably their key to success. So let’s see this Fashion Show.

Jojo’s Fashion Show 2: Las Cruces is a time management sequel to Jojo’s Fashion Show. The second part of the game resembles its predecessor greatly. So it is even needless to explain long what Jojo’s Fashion Show 2 is like. Like the original game it has two modes: Career and Dress-Up Modes. While Career Mode reveals a contest and development of the events, Dress-Up Mode lets you look through the unlocked clothes without any haste. Here you can fit garments and accessories, experiment with the outfits and change your models. Finally you can take a shot of beautiful attire.

Just for those who have a vague idea about previous Jojo’s Fashion Show, I’ll drop a few words about what you have to do. As in the original game, you will travel to Paris, Berlin, L.A. and other cities. Your job is simple – dress the models according to the style displayed above her or his head and send them to the catwalk. You understand right! Now Jojo and Rosalind make men’s fashion. And men-models take part in Jojo’s Fashion Show. So mix, match and fit tops, bottoms and foot-gear from the rack below. Get at least three stars to pass through a level.

Career Mode is interrupted by short screens with dialogues. Due to such unobtrusive presentation of the storyline, you show an unfeigned interest in the events. This time you deal with more characters than during the last High Fashion Week. Meet Rosalind’s granny Abuelita, old fellow shrewd fashion critic Claudio Maximiro, FWD editor Kat and young photographer Avett. Actually Avett brings a new feature to Jojo’s Fashion Show. With him you acquire a new photo shoot mode. You will have to take shots of the models according to a certain style. Hold your lens firmly and click the shutter when you see an appropriately arrayed model.

Among other new events are Show Climax and Double Time.  The first one lets you double your score while the latter forces you dress ladies and gentlemen with less time than usually. Well, more new clothing items, accessories and styles (Bollywood, Foxhunt, Sockhop, Provocative, Business Friday, etc.) are introduced in the present show which is, of cause, natural.

But, in general, the game looks like its predecessor in many ways: interface, settings and even power-ups. The flaw of the last season show was impossibility to create your own style, as most part of what you do is just matching and not creating. This Show doesn’t offer more than that either. I think many players were surprised to get low score points when they matched clothes according to the style (as they though) and color shades. But a strangely or even ugly dressed model won critics’ recognition. Don’t be surprised to see anything gaudy this time. This is the world of High Fashion where experiments are welcome!

So, featuring male models, brand new clothing items and a few more introductions, Jojo’s Fashion Show 2: Las Cruces may turn to be an addicting past time and entertainment. It possesses bright colors and captivating story. Though is much alike the original game. It is up to you to decide whether it’s good or bad. I think it will definitely acquire its public.
