Pros: Excellent tutorial. Lovely characters. Great animation. Challenging poker game play.

Cons: Croupier sounds choppy.

The new governor wants to ban poker because it’s a game of chance. A brave spirit with sharp mind needs to prove that poker involves more than good luck. Are you ready to take on the challenge? Then travel to Texas cities and small towns to increase your ratings and show that poker is a game of skill and quick wits.

Governor of Poker 2 GameGovernor of Poker 2 is a card game and obviously a sequel to Governor of Poker. If you are new to poker, Governor of Poker 2 provides an excellent detailed tutorial that explains the nuances of the card game and helps to create your own strategy.

Though the sequel largely resembles the original, it still offers a great stuff and lots of fun features to enjoy. One of the more pleasant aspects of Governor of Poker 2 is its nice storyline. Though not the main part of the game and you spend most of your time playing poker, it provides an extra challenge and brings the game together.

Playing poker won’t be too hard even for beginners. Apart from the excellent tutorial, you can find helpful stuff such as the ‘poker hands sheet’ that shows all possible card combinations and highlights your hands.

You can also keep your eyes on other players and figure out their way of playing. Though you only see their cute hats, it’s easy to recognize when they act nervous or feel lucky, so you can discover their playing style and even learn to cheat. Start slow so you can get a feel the house. Think carefully before your turn and beware that other players can also cheat and you can lose all your money.

As soon as you arrive in a town, you can play either a cash game or a tournament. Just make sure you have enough money to join a game. A cash game means you can win all the money at table, while in tournaments the three best players share the winnings. You can play each game once a day.

Governor of Poker 2 GameYou can increase your reputation and earn more profits by buying buildings in town. When all the buildings are yours, you can move on to the next city. If you don't have enough money to join a game, sell a couple of buildings. You can also get a loan from the local bank, but it is usually small amounts. Another exciting feature is that aside from betting chips, you can put up your property. So, Governor of Poker 2 feels like real poker with risky bets.

One of the more enjoyable things about Governor of Poker 2 is cute characters. Although you don't see more than their cool hats and hands, the animated characters along with their voices reveal their personality and playing style. They vomit, trifle with their chips and make remarks. But seriously, the hats are funny, and you can even  purchase a new hat at the local hatter's.

The croupier announces the bets and winnings, and comments on players’ actions. The only annoyance in the game is the choppy sounds from the money. Governor of Poker 2 not only has lots of fun features and lovely characters with their cute hats, but also nice animation, a compelling storyline and great Texas Hold 'Em style poker. It's definite worth a look for both the newbie and the card shark.
