Farm Frenzy 3 Ice Age. Snowy Paradise

If you have any doubts that the farming business is profitable – just look at Scarlett, the heroine of Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age. After having an indisputable success in America (Farm Frenzy 3: American Pie), she has decided to expand her business a bit more. And you’ll never guess the direction she has chosen… the North Pole!

Last time we saw Scarlett, she was on her way to conquer the American prairies. With a couple of turkeys and some primitive equipment at the beginning, she succeeded in making her grandma’s farm prosperous. With this mission completed, our restless farmer looks for fresh adventures. Why not invest in a new campaign and try to breed arctic animals to save an old arctic farm? You are welcomed into this snowy farm paradise with Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age.

Of course, some players ask why the developers continue using the same title instead of Farm Frenzy 4, 5 and so on. Well, the answer is simple: all the installments of Farm Frenzy 3 series have the identical game mechanics, which in a way means if you've played one, you've played them all.

Like in the previous episodes, the player gets a low-price animal or two to get started. In Ice Age, you begin with penguins laying eggs. Selling eggs brings in a little income but if you work hard, soon you can afford to acquire royal penguins, walruses and even mammoth (it appears that they haven’t died out!). The animals bring rather valuable output, especially as you get into the walruses. Want more? Save up a certain sum of money to build factories and you are then welcomed in the world of manufacturers and the world of higher money! Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age will teach you how to cook tasty cakes, make ice cream, fabricate decorations and more. If you need certain products that the animals don’t produce at your arctic farm – order them from the city and the helicopter will bring everything you need.

The grass doesn’t grow in the Arctic because of weather conditions. So you are to fill the well with fresh tasty fish. Be sure your livestock is well-fed otherwise it can die of starvation, but each animal has a small meter below it to show you if it needs fed or not. But, mammoths don’t eat fish, so you'll have to worry then about keeping hay in stock.

When everything seems to be in order, you think it’s time to take a rest and reap the fruits of your labor. Far from it! Sudden bear attacks will never let you properly relax. Beware of polar bears as they are especially severe in this neighborhood. In Ice Age, the predators can bring you a little fortune though so don't be so quick to get rid of them. When you progress through the game and become an owner of a fitting room, dress up the caught bears and you’ll see it considerably increases their cost.

In the Farm Frenzy 3 series, the story is of little importance. The information you get about Scarlett’s discoveries is presented in the form of comics throughout the game levels. More attention is paid to the game play instead of on the overall plot of the game. Thus, the developers have worked out a rich system of awards for tasks fulfillment.

Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age can also boast a great replay value. When all of 90 levels are beaten, the players unlock Endless Mode. Or if you are one of those perfectionists – try to get all the golden prizes. By the way, this will bring extra cash that you can spend at the local shop on improving your equipment.

In addition to almost never-ending game play, the game features exceptionally beautiful graphics. Snowy locations and Northern Lights increase the feel of the Arctic ambiance. All the animals are animated and funny as they are in the other Farm Frenzy games. The specific North Pole atmosphere is reinforced with droll sounds and friendly tunes.

The only shortcoming of the Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age game is the similarity to the previous installments of the series. But, is it really a fault?  Not if you love the other Farm Frenzy 3 games.

All in all, Farm Frenzy 3: Ice Age is the game that doesn’t impose complex story or strategy upon gamers. And if you are looking for a seasonable amusement it's just the game you need!
