well i just played the demo version and have to say it is a very intersting good game- but I was hoping that all the characters would be doing  jobs around the island - not just one.

There ought to be a warning with this game!  If you don't get up and walk away once in a while, your neck & shoulders will freeze up, and your mouse hand will cramp up!  I'm tired of picking fruit, trapping crabs, killing boars and snakes, and then doing all the cooking, for crying out loud!!  I can't wait to see what's on the rest of the island when the full version comes out.  Any time soon, Awem??  Great game!

I'm with you Iferradino It was a great game can't wait to play the rest! The snakes almost did me in, but thanks to the protection potion  and four trips back , I prevailed!

I must say I liked it!  Good job! The beta had great length, otherwise I would have been worn out with all the running around, rofl

I didn't time myself, but I am estimating about 4 hours and I was only half way thru when the beta ended!

Oh, no! My avatar origin is unsolved. Lol. I was planning a contest where you are supposed to guess the game I used this avatar from.

I thought it was a great game, surprised at the length of the beta. I didn't mind there only being one person doing the tasks, sometimes things get confusing if too many people are running around! 

back from vacation and was surprised to see beta. i must say it's really great, i'm not much into simulation games but the island: castaway is really different. it looks more serious than other games of this kind. i am very impressed.  it involves more strategy and makes you think. it has a nice story and captivates you. loved the tasks, and the snakes are pretty tough.

please AWEM! hurry up! we cant wait to play your great game!!!!!!

Having betatested this game, I'm sure players anxious for a fun & deep strategy-adventure are going to love it!  Some spoiler-free highlights:
- rich storyline with intriguing side-plot/mystery, easy & immersive gameplay, humourous characters, sweet mix of tasks & quests (all sensible per surviving on an island)
- crisp graphics, good animations, lovely non-intrusive help system & it's not necessary to memorize tons of fiddly controls or keep a journal
- fantastic trophy system, great for competitive players
- non-liner gameplay so *you* can select which tasks you prefer to take care of or quests you want to achieve
- no idle waiting time, always there's something you can do
- overall, good replay value & pretty much non-stop fun

I was so happy to be a beta-tester for The Island: Castaways...it was my first game beta-test opportunity! 
 
First of all I didn't think they would give us such a lengthy beta, and secondly, I can usually get enough of most games in the hour free download they give...BOY was I wrong!  I started her up one morning, and couldn't even tear myself away to eat!  Be sure to have a few snax handy when you sit down to this one!  I played the beta for what seemed days (probably only 3 or 4 hours) but it was days if you are on island time! 
 
I found The Island to be challenging, reward based, with logical tasks throughout.  Some tasks require patience, while others require memory, common sense and sometimes...just plain luck (like out-runnung boars)!  I loved that you are the only person performing tasks, as I have a difficult time managing an entire village...
 
There is a great overview map of the game, that reveals itself as you complet tasks and are directed to scout new areas for items of use and value...Which means I still have quite a ways to go before finishing the game! A great plus for those who are usually disappointed with game length!
 
There is an interesting storline developing, and I must say, after having the opportunity to test, I JUST CAN'T WAIT to get my hands on the full-version...probably gonna need to take another vacation day though! LOL!
