We're just hours away now.  I can't believe that I have actually scheduled my time for the next few days to make sure I have plenty of uninterrupted time to play Island Castaway when it's finally released!  Image

This is a bittersweet evening for me.  I've enjoyed being able to wander around the islands for awhile with no particular agenda.  I've learned so much about the detail that went in to creating this game, and have the deepest admiration for the developers...thank you so much!  This is a wonderful environment, and I truly don't want to leave here.  I can't wait to get my hands on the final version, and yet dread the ending.

I've already told you how amazed I was by the background sounds...and the background music.  Once I figured out that I needed to turn the music down (not off!), and the games sounds up...I was amazed at the detail that your team put into this game!  Just looking at a character that wasn't a typical 'digital' creation, but more of a cartoon animation, was a nice change.  But then watching Tom (our main character) move around, running, picking fruit, digging in his garden, poling his raft across the waterway...I felt guilty when I saw his heavy breathing!  But I kept pushing him.

I learned that vegetable salad sold for the most money, so I needed money to buy seeds.  That meant that I needed money to buy the Warrior's shovel, so I didn't have to work so hard to harvest my crops.  And then I learned that I needed the Warrior's bow in the worst way!  You can't kill snakes and boars very well without it...the most important item I can earn!!!  Additional room in inventory is also a necessity, because you are always running out of room for things like...your cooked recipes that you need to sell!  And I also learned that Tom could survive on fruit cocktail, instead of feeding him those expensive steaks. Tonight, Tom gets all the steak he wants!!!

I can't wait to see what awaits me on the unexplored areas of the map.  And what new weapons will I have available to me....and the snakes...ooooohhhh!  Can't wait to see what 'smoked snake' is worth at the local market!  The boars are the most fun.  I love it when they see me, and start snorting before they attack...just before I hit them with my powerful Warrior's arrow!  The snakes were the creepiest...the music, the rattles...the way they could move in on you so fast!  And the 'sizzle' when my wonderful arrow nails them to the grass....fun, fun, FUN!

Oh, gee, AWEM?!  My only complaint is that I hate fishing!  I really don't want to go home.  I want to know what good pineapple and melon are, because...so far....they aren't in any recipe.  I don't want to go home.  I'm going to relish my final moments before reality strikes, and I have to finish this game.  Go home to reality.  Damn.

Awem, I am so grateful for my free game.  It was absolutely my pleasure to beta test it, and I hope you come out with many more like it.  I just started the game from the beginning, and I am going to savor every delicious moment of this adventure.  I think all other game developers will have a tough time reaching the high mark you have set with Island Castaway!  You guys are the best. Thank you!

I'm ecstatic with the changes to the game!  You actually made fishing more fun, Awem! I almost fell off my chair when I saw the first shark make off with my bait.  And then reeling in an old shoe...what a hoot!  I'm still wandering around...trying not to rush to the finish.Image

Thanks so much for my free game , I loved being a beta-teaster Hope I helped  a little with my comments. Now that I've started the game I love the voices, they add so much . I see so many little changes that I  keep thinking I missed them the first time, like the sharks and the old boot, nice touch! You have made a great game better! I've always been a HOG/match 3 but you have got me with this one, hope there's more to come. I have to say I  have thoroughly enjoyed reading Iferradino's comments ,she seems to take her games as serious as I do.  I fell in love with your games when I bought Cradle of Rome, that is my favorite game ever. I hope to beta-test  Cradle  Of  Rome 2  because I must have it! What about you Iferradino are you  a lover of the cradle games , if not you're missing  out big time!

The Edelweiss is in the mountains in the far northwest corner.  When you enter you will see what appears to be green moss around the edges, and if you wander around you will find places where you are sloshing in puddles.  I found the Edelweiss in a little nook there.  Good luck!

Aw, gees, Awem.  I think you should have had us do a second beta test.  I've found so many voice errors.  Since the game has already gone public, I didn't bother to write them down, but maybe I should have.  I just heard John tell Tom about some of the things he had found, and instead of calling them 'defaced notes' he said 'defacated notes'.  Big boo boo!  Or should I say 'doo doo'?  Nothing serious causing any problems with the game...just a language problem.

Oh, and by the way, I've been playing literally non-stop for almost 10 hours now, and I know my way around.  You have a very big game here!!!

I'm sorry, I am really not big on 'match 3' games.  It gets my adrenaline rushing so high that I can't sleep at night.  The only reason I am still here tonight is because my husband is out of town.  Yay!  I can play all day!  Oh wait...it's all night, now.
